ARONUI Indigenous Arts Festival

The Challenge

ARONUI Indigenous Arts Festival celebrates Māori and Indigenous arts and culture through bringing vocal and theatre performances, live readings, markets, and much more to the local Rotorua community. ARONUI is a leader in showcasing Indigenous talent and local artistry across a variety of fields.

ARONUI approached Dubzz to help increase their attendance numbers and ticket sales for their paid events. ARONUI also needed a company that could help to update their website and social media accounts consistently.

Our Approach

Dubzz implemented a social media advertising strategy across Facebook and Instagram to increase awareness of the Festival and individual events. This advertising strategy was supported by our social media management service, in which we created individual Facebook events, created and scheduled consistent posts, and monitored engagement.

ARONUI 2021 was set to take place in late 2021, but with the Covid restrictions the Festival had to be postponed. We worked with ARONUI to update their website, social media, and communicate this postponement to their audience in an efficient and effective way.

We began working with ARONUI again in late 2021 to help them get the message out that the Festival was back on and had been rescheduled to February-March 2022. We updated and republished the individual events, updated the website and social media, and ran social media ads to increase ticket sales.

The Results

Throughout the few months that we worked with ARONUI to promote the Festival, we created and distributed 25 posts across Facebook and Instagram and ran 10 separate social media ads. Combined, these reached approximately 91,500 people within their specified target audience.

Our flexibility meant that we were able to adjust our advertising focus when needed to keep up with the fluctuations in ticket sales. We also helped to communicate Festival policy changes with ticketholders due to the ongoing changes in government restrictions.
