The Challenge

Rotorua Little Theatre was chosen as the recipient of our 2024 Free Charity Website Giveaway, selected from a pool of outstanding applicants making a positive impact in the Rotorua community. We were inspired by their work as a registered charity, creating a fun and welcoming atmosphere for theatre productions, and were excited to support their mission with a website that would amplify their reach and impact. At the time, the group didn’t have a website, which made it difficult to centralise information about upcoming shows, past productions, memberships, and venue hire.

Our Approach

To support Rotorua Little Theatre, we dedicated our time to building a website valued at up to $5,000, creating an online platform that highlights their history, links to their third-party ticketing provider, and positions them for future growth. We focused on delivering a fresh, simple, and mobile-friendly design, with clear calls to action for general enquiries and ticket sales. We anticipate that these updates will boost the theatre's public profile, raise awareness of its events, and ultimately increase ticket sales and audience engagement. The Results

The new website we designed is modern, easy to navigate, and simple to update, reflecting the theatre’s rich community history. It showcases the group’s past performances while highlighting current and upcoming productions, with seamless ticket purchasing integration through iTicket NZ.

We’re proud to have helped Rotorua Little Theatre with developing a new website and creating a platform that supports their passion for the arts. The new site enhances user navigation, improves the overall experience, and positions the theatre for greater visibility and growth in the future.

For several years, Rotorua Little Theatre faced challenges with our original website and relied solely on a Facebook page. As a completely volunteer-run organisation putting on four shows a year, our team’s time was stretched thin, leaving little room for managing a website.

When we learned we had been chosen for this project, we were thrilled that we’d finally have a platform to share our story with the world. Of course, some of us joked that it would be up and running in a week – how optimistic, ha ha! With changes in our organisation’s personnel, things didn’t move as quickly as we hoped. This was no reflection on Dubzz, who were incredibly patient as we worked to upload content and decide on the features we wanted. With 75 years of history to sift through and various ideas from our members, we eventually decided to focus on the basics first, adding more later.

Dubzz researched our online presence and created a beautiful, user-friendly website. It’s easy for us to manage and allows patrons to contact us and purchase tickets with ease.
