Is your business mobile ready?

Why it's important for every website to be mobile friendly.

Since the release of the first iPhone around 7 years ago, the number of mobile devices has exploded! Almost everyone has a mobile phone with internet access and to put it in perspective, there are now more mobile phones in the world than toothbrushes!

Due to this fact and the ever increasing amount of mobile website traffic Google have finally announced the inevitable – the way your website displays on mobile devices will affect your Google ranking.

Google explained that “this change will affect the mobile searches in all languages worldwide and will have a significant impact in our search results. Consequently, users will find it easier to get relevant, high quality search results that are optimised for the mobile devices.”

So from April 21, 2015 Google will change its search algorithm to favour websites that are mobile friendly.

Is your website mobile friendly?

YES!

Great work, this means that Google will now favour your website over others that are not mobile friendly. But most importantly it means that users can engage in your website and find the information they need easily on their mobile devices.

But this does not mean that you can kick back and relax just yet! Test your website using the Google page speed test. Page speed is also another very important ranking factor for Google and also for users, as NO ONE likes a slow website.  If your website score is under 80/100 you need to get to work.

If your website is a few years old it may not be mobile friendly. To find out if it is, test your website using the Google Mobile-Friendly Test. Google will scan your website and simply tell you if it is mobile friendly.

If it is, Great! The Google mobile friendly test scan will also let you know how you can make your website even better!
