The Challenge

Collab Electrical is a family-owned business offering residential and commercial electrical work throughout the Lake Tarawera and Rotorua regions. Collab Electrical is a relatively new business started by local electrician Jamie McIntosh, who has over 10 years of experience, and his wife Lauren, our very own Dubzz Office Manager!

Collab Electrical employed Dubzz to promote their business and build their client base through online advertising and website management.

Our Approach

As a new business, Collab Electrical has a small marketing budget that must be used efficiently to generate as many quality enquiries as possible. Dubzz recommended focusing on Google Ads and SEO to drive quality traffic to their website and generate quote requests.
Dubzz began by setting up a Google Ads campaign targeted at property owners living in Rotorua and Lake Tarawera. As the campaign results built up over time, we used the data to make key changes to improve the customer targeting, reduce the cost of each ad click and increase leads.
Dubzz also helped Collab Electrical improve their Google ranking by rewriting their website content and meta data. These changes make it easier for Google to match their website with relevant online searches performed by potential customers.
Tracking on the website contact form was also set up so that the user journey could be observed and improved on. This information helps us enhance their Google Ads further as it shows us which users are most likely to become customers.
At the end of each month, Dubzz produces a report outlining results achieved including the number of Google Ads clicks, website visits, and enquiry form submissions. This allows Collab Electrical to see clear trends that are relevant to their goals, and use these to make informed business decisions.

The Results

After the first month of work with Dubzz, visits to the Collab Electrical website more than doubled.  This was due to the Google Search Ads campaign and improvements in the site’s Google ranking as a result of SEO work completed.

Along with Search Ads, Dubzz also created a Google Display Ad Campaign as this type of advertising is great for improving brand awareness with potential customers. In one month, the Display Ads were served nearly 30,000 times, for a total cost of just $6.

Collab Electrical had only been working with Dubzz for five months when they instructed us to pause their Google Ads as they now had plenty of work booked in. Dubzz were able to put the ads on hold immediately, ready to be switched back on as soon as requested.
