The Challenge

Osbornes Funeral Directors are Rotorua’s longest serving funeral home, providing funeral services in Rotorua since 1981. Osbornes are dedicated to excellence in service and assisting families with personalised memorialisation of their loved ones.
Dubzz have been working with Osbornes since 2017 helping to leverage their online presence and further develop their brand awareness. More recently Osbornes wanted to update their website to include a functional tributes page that families could utilise to share tributes and funeral service information with the public.

Our Approach

Dubzz began with a meeting with Osbornes to gain an understanding of their business goals and then together we developed a digital marketing strategy to achieve those goals.
We started with a social media strategy incorporating regular posts, engagement and Facebook advertising campaigns to drive Osbornes brand awareness and reach new audiences. We also implemented an on-going SEO strategy incorporating onsite and off-site improvements, content creation and improving site speed to maintain Osbornes’ Google ranking and increase overall website traffic.
Then, once Osbornes indicated that they also wanted to provide a space on their website for families to honour their loved ones, we recommended adding in new functionality that allowed the Osbornes team to create a tribute page for each loved one. On that page the Osbornes team upload an image and blurb about the person who has passed, as well as information on their funeral and any special wishes. Special website functionality that Dubzz included was a space for readers to leave their own comments and tributes, and a button for readers to share information on their Facebook page. The Results

The new tributes page on the Osbornes website is a wonderful tool where families can choose to publish and share memorial information online. The tributes page has had over 2000 views since being launched at the end of September 2019, indicating that this kind of information is being sought online.

Thanks to the ongoing social media management and search engine optimisation strategies Osbornes have seen a 100% increase in website traffic from social media and over a 40% increase in organic traffic from Google in 2019*. Not only has there been a large increase in website traffic, but users have been more engaged with a 29% increase in pages viewed and 40% increase in average session duration*.

A number of years ago we ventured into using our website and social media more effectively. We assumed that because we had a website, and we used Facebook personally, that we knew what we were doing. We didn’t.
