Rotorua Community Hospice

The Challenge

Rotorua Hospice was in need of an updated website in order to provide exceptional service to their patients and whānau, while also showcasing the impact of their work to the wider community. They wanted a friendly, cheerful look to reflect the Hospice kaupapa of "Living Every Moment".

Our Approach

To build a website that was user-friendly, easy to navigate, and reflective of the Hospice brand, Dubzz began by restructuring the Hospice website content and by creating an underlying design template that was warm, welcoming, and incorporated key brand elements. Dubzz included several interactive highlights to encourage user engagement, including hover and scroll effects, personalised Hospice stories, and a dynamic "Impact Calculator" that allows users to see the effect of various donation amounts. Dubzz also developed a customised, easy-to-use administrative interface, allowing Hospice Staff to quickly and easily update content and add new events. Rotorua Community Hospice View Website Here

The Results

The new Rotorua Community Hospice website provides a welcoming port of call for all aspects of Rotorua Community Hospice.  The site’s easy navigation and thoughtful structure allow users to find a depth of information in just a few clicks, encouraging engagement and action for patients, whānau and community members alike.  Mobile responsiveness and cross-browser compatibility allow easy access to the Hospice website resources from any device.  The website also provides a dynamic publishing platform for Hospice events, including the popular Harcourts Dancing for Hospice event, which raised over $400,000 for Rotorua Hospice in 2018.

For Hospice staff, the custom-built administrative interface and integration with their Infoodle Community Management System means a reduction in time spent updating the website and managing the database.  A more user-friendly interface with clear calls to action also encourages increased donations, with Hospice receiving their first online donation within 24 hours of the new website launch.
