As well as being an effective online networking tool LinkedIn has also become a highly-targeted online advertising platform. The benefits of LinkedIn advertising compared to other social networking channels is that it provides great targeting options, including the ability to target by job title, employer, role, and skills, as well as the normal demographic and geographic options. Because LinkedIn users add more detailed and up-to-date “professional” information you can have more confidence that you are actually reaching your desired audience.
How it Works
LinkedIn allows you to create and place your ads on the top banner or sidebar of pages on the LinkedIn.com website. After specifying your target audience, your ads will display and allow users the chance to click on your ads that link to your website for further information.
There are two options for how to pay for your ads: Pay per Click (CPC) and Pay per 1,000 Impressions (CPM).
There is no minimum weekly, monthly, or annual spend, and no long-term contracts.
You can control your advertising costs by setting a budget and you will only pay for the clicks or impressions that you actually receive.
Because of its highly targeted advertising options LinkedIn Advertising is slightly more expensive in comparison to Google or Facebook paid advertising.

There is a $15 minimum spend per day
