The answer to the age-old question: "What is a Dubzz?"

Many people often ask what the Dubzz name means. There are also many people who say it incorrectly.  So we have decided to set the record straight and finally answer the age old questions.

What does Dubzz mean?

We are still trying to figure out what it means! We tried Googling it once to find out, but instead of finding any enlightening information, all we could find is our website (which is how we would like to keep it anyway). This is not a very exciting answer, sorry.

How did the name come about?

Dubzz - Dubzz Digital MarketingWhen Rachel was coming up with a name for her new digital marketing startup, she wanted something that was short, catchy and can be easily found in Google (of course).

Well, easier said than done!

It wasn’t until one day when she said the beginning of a website address aloud that the name came to fruition…

“WWW” (Dub Dub Dub). It had a catchy ring to it.

Then she tried the single ‘Dub’ – but it turns out this is also a genre of music (See Dub and Dubstep).

How about the plural, ‘Dubs’?

How about spelling it with a ‘Z’!?

How about two ‘Z’s’!!?

Perfect!!!

And so ‘Dubzz’ was born!

How to pronounce our name correctly

Now here we are, after three and a half years in business, a new inner-city office, a team of 5 and over 100 clients located all over New Zealand Rachel and the team are still needing to correct even our most loyal clients on how to pronounce our brand name correctly.

We have been called countless different names over the years (the majority of these names being polite and friendly).

Here’s an example of just a few:

So after many awkward corrections mid conversation, qualitative research groups and much discussion during lunch breaks we have identified the easiest way to remember how to pronounce the word Dubzz:

Dubzz, it rhymes with Pubs
